etm strives to demonstrate corporate social responsibility through development of a travel green program which provides the ability to report on your companies carbon footprint and through our ongoing commitment and support of The Starlight Children’s Foundation. etm travel green etm is committed to the preservation of the environment. Airline travel has one of the greatest effects on global warming. A flight from Sydney to London emits nearly as much carbon dioxide as the average Australian does in one year. In 2008, etm clients travelled 218,400,000 kilometres which created 74,246 tonnes CO2. To offset these emissions, around 322,000 trees would need to be planted. With this in mind, in early 2007, etm launched its travel green program, in partnership with not-for-profit organisation, Carbon Neutral. The program allows corporate travel and event clients to offset the carbon emissions caused by travel and staging events. etm offer all clients access to our Climate Friendly Itinerary and The Carbon Emission Report. The Carbon Awareness Itinerary is a customised itinerary that includes a carbon emission calculation for the flight segments of the itinerary at the time of creating the itinerary. The Carbon Emission Report is a report that has been created to display the calculated carbon emissions per booking and the estimated cost to neutralise them by offsetting with Climate Friendly or Carbon Neutral. The Climate Friendly logo and the indicative emission and cost to neutralise will appear on your travel itinerary.

etm is happy to consult (with Carbon Neutral) to ensure that all your travel and event activities are as “green” as possible. starlight children’s foundation The Starlight Children’s Foundation mission is to brighten the lives of all seriously ill and hospitalised children and their families throughout Australia. Starlight hospital programs include Starlight Express Rooms, Starlight Fun Centre’s and Starlight Express Vans - geared to deliver fun and entertainment to hospitalised children around the country. Out of hospital, Starlight's wishgranting program grants the wish of children aged four to eighteen who suffer from any serious illness, and meet the criteria. Starlight Escapes provide children and their families with fun group outings and activities, throughout the year. etm has a determined and dedicated committee that meets on a regular basis, coordinating social and fund raising events. This team hosts regular fundraising activities from Friday night social drinks, sausage sizzles, lawn bowls and trivia nights. In 2008, the committee organised a very successful gala dinner with over 200 attendees and an amazing array of auction items. To date, etm has donated in excess of $130K through fundraising, donations and even sponsoring a Fun Centre for the Peter Mac Institute.
